SEA SHEPHERD: NOT FAREOES

The Steve Irwin was detained by UK courts on 15th July after a Maltese Company, Fish and Fish (no, really!) issued a fishy complaint regarding past misdemeanours.

The crew were ready to leave Lerwick to set sail for the Faroes and start a fresh campaign against the yearly annihilation of whales by the local Faroese. The allegations are connected to Sea Shepherd’s bluefin tuna campaign last year, F&F are claiming damages for the bluefin tuna that were rescued from their illegal operations.

The ship won’t be released until the hefty £860,000 bond has been met. Time is running out and the Steve Irwin runs the risk of being sold if the bond is not realised.
