Anyone think that the cops at Barton Moss anti-fracking camp might be taking their job a little too seriously? Depending on who you listen to, Greater Manchester Police either just disrupted the most sophisticated tunnelling operation since the Great Escape or just stopped campaigners taking a dump.

On the 19th of January 2014 police cops patrolling the Barton Moss anti-fracking seized the long-drop toilets. Of a familiar design to anyone who’s ever endured a Glastonbury they were basically big holes in the ground and were in no way code named Tom, Dick or Harry. Not taking any chances of anti-frackers tunnelling their way onto site, the camp guards ..sorry police officers, cordoned them off and concreted them in.
