The prize this week goes to Vanda and the dozens of others arrested at Barton Moss. A journalist from the Salford Star reported “I saw one of the arresting officers repeatedly punch Vanda in the stomach. I went around to the other side of the fence to which the police had her pinned and saw blood dripping from her face and absolute fear in her eyes. She was screaming while an officer had his hands around her neck.”

Vanda was previously injured during another over zealous arrest and left unable to move while the police failed to call an ambulance for over half an hour.
