5th - London Fete Against The G8 - The G8 Summit is to be held in Japan, July 7th-9th. In Britain there is a demo at Croydon, targeting Lunar House, the nerve centre of the UK Border Agency where people claim asylum and where their claims are refused, as well as Electric House, an immigration reporting centre. * 6th - Cowley Road Carnival, Oxford - The biggest community event in Oxfordshire. This year’s event could be the last before the road is put under the 24 hour gaze of state-run CCTV cameras. No CCTV are looking for volunteers to hand out anti-CCTV material on the day. 12noon – 6pm, free entry www.cowleyroadcarnival.co.uk
* 12th - SHAC National Demo - Protest against Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS), the largest contract vivisection laboratory in Europe. * 16th - Demo against E.ON - Join the Greenwash Guerrillas in a fun, subversive demo, and cordoning off the area to warn summit delegates about the high levels of toxic greenwash leaking from the building. With the Camp for Climate Action, Rising Tide, People and Planet, Earth First! and WDM. E.ON run the Kingsnorth Power Station, the site of this years’ Camp For Climate Action (See SchNEWS 623).
