Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign activists on charges of “racially aggravated conduct” were literally laughed out of court on Thursday as Sheriff James Scott ruled that continuing the “prosecution [was] not necessary or proportionate”. The five stood accused of racist conduct in conjunction with a demo against the Israeli government sponsored Jerusalem Quartet in 2008. www.scottishpsc.org.uk

Black Wood Protest Camp (see SchNEWS 715) has ended after ten days on April 2nd. They only intended a short-term camp, and a visit by the National Eviction Team indicated that an eviction was imminent. http://blackwood.noflag.org.uk

Protest as Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor
delivers a “keynote speech” at Cardiff University Debating Society on April 14th. No Palestinian rights supporter has been invited to debate. Local anti-war, human rights and Palestine campaigners are holding a demo at 5.30pm, outside Main Building, Cardiff University, Park Place, Cardiff.
