NUKING ON HEAVENS DOOR
Five US anti-nuclear activists have been sentenced to 6 to 15 months in prison, and one year supervised release. The unusual protesters, calling themselves Disarm Now Ploughshares, are all between 61 - 84.
Two are Jesuit priests and one a Catholic nun. They had used bolt cutters to get into naval base Kitsap-Bangor, which houses the Trident submarine, to symbolically disarm the nukes inside.
After getting to the nuclear storage facility they sprinkled blood and seeds before being arrested by security. Around 250 supporters rallied at the courthouse, breaking in to peace songs after the trial.
