BATON CHARGED

PC Simon Harwood now faces criminal prosecution for striking the unsuspecting newspaper-seller Ian Tomlinson with his baton, and roughly pushing him into the crowd during the G20 protests.

The inquest into event recently found that Tomlinson was unlawfully killed (see SchNEWS 770).  Harwood now is set to appear in court on 20 June.
