Back in November Zenon Mitchell-Kotsakis, a University of Sussex student, was sentenced to 15 months for his part in the demonstration at Millbank Tower, Tory HQ (see SchNEWS 794).

His crime? Throwing a placard stick - hitting and harming nobody.

On 16th February 'Defend The Right To Protest' held a meeting discussing 'Justice for Zenon' on Sussex Uni campus. Prior to the meeting Sussex Students' Union and Sussex UCU issued a statement highlighting Zenon's plight and the "disproportionate and harsh sentences" dished out to protesters in general.
