EDL ROUTED IN WHITECHAPEL
The sorry tale of the EDL is perhaps wending it's way to an anti-climax. Yesterday saw a piss-poor turn out in Barking end up in an ignominious defeat in Whitechapel.
The league decided to make a stand in Barking – long an area of widespread BNP support. Admittedley this was only intended to be a regional demo not one of their national 'big ones' but even so the turn-out was poor.
SchNEWS spoke to a local anti-fascist “It really was a poor turn-out about 80 of them mostly old guys in their fifties or young kids – no casuals to be seen”. The EDL were cordoned off by police outside Barking Town Hall and exchanged points of view with a small UAF contingent. Later the right-wingers were bombarded with pots of yoghurt from above.
After that not particularly inspiring effort a few leaguers decided to up the ante. Around twenty of them got off the tube at Bethnal Green and pub-crawled their way up to the East London mosque. Attentive SchNEWS readers will know that this was the target of the EDL Tower Hamlets demo back in September.
According to our anti-fascist witness “They were there briefly, shouting 'Allah is a paedo', then almost straight away one of them got knocked out. Within ten minutes there were three or four hundred locals there ready to confront them. There were also TSG [riot police] all over the shop. The EDL were then all arrested for their own safety” Nice one guys!

Halal - the idea that the EDL's campaign against Halal is to do with animal rights is laughable, it's merely another excuse to have a racist emo. Having seen wobbly ranks of the EDL up close I doubt there are many vegans amongst them (especially the ones throwing bacon around).
Female genital mutilation - definitely an issue in parts of Africa and the Middle East, and on a small scale in this country (where it is illegal). I'm certainly not in favour of it, but I don't see how marching through the streets shouting "Allah is a Paedo" would help.
I don't know that much about the alleged "47 paedophiles", what I do know is that they're in court on Monday - so (while I'm not a massive fan of our legal system) they have presumably been arrested, charged and (if found guilty) they will go to prison - so what exactly do you want to happen? By this logic you should be outside court everyday because there are always people accused of crimes in there, or didn't you know that?
It's a classic fascist tactic that allows you to blame an entire minority for something while also being able to say "we may be twats but we're not as bad as them" making counter demos difficult, i.e. "oppose us and you are pro-paedo".
As for "the indigenous genocide of the British folk" - According to the 2001 Census 90.9% of the population is white, while only 3% are Muslim (I realise these aren't mutually exclusive btw). So... what genocide?

Round about the first time - and only time - he visited a working concentration camp. You should try it - go to Poland and visit Auschwitz, look into the faces in the pictures, and imagine them being English Muslims. Is your own political power that important to you, that you would cause *this* on British soil?

The sun IS shining today, even when it is raining, even when it is nightime. I have got enough food in my belly and my cupboard, to last more than a few days. How much hate do you have for the things that make you impure at heart? Does it ever occur to you that all this hate, from both sides, could stop, if you really wanted it to? But I can see that you do not want to.
We all have paradigms from which our lives started. Perhaps some had a bad time in our early years, bad parents, one or both, bad school, bad company bad family etc. But....why should we believe in all that badness and take it in as if it belongs to us, or is part of us, when we mostly cry for freedom all the time - yet still can not show a mature act of freedom from that which has blinded us and molded us from the beginning? If we think like animals we will act as such, but we are much more than that?
All of us ARE children of God - I mean - that ultimate which created all of us - the whole world and everything known in the stars above. I accept that 'God' means alot of different things to everyone. I only want to share my feelings and beliefs on this. There are those who profit in hate and destruction and they are filled with the spirit of the evil one. 'God' and 'Satan' (I accept that 'Satan' means alot of different things to everyone) are extremes in all of us. You are my brothers and sisters and I am trying to be all that I can be, just by being human. So my ultimate point in all this is...where is Jesus' warning being taken seriously here, and or in your own lives at at a deeply personal level?

The EDL are taking their roadshow back to Brum this week. SchNEWS assumes they’ll be hoping to avoid a re-run of their last two visits to the UK’s second largest city, which saw them chased round the town centre by Asian youth and anti-fascists.
