- VERGE ON THE ROAD - The first leg of the Smash EDO tour over
the last week has taken in Oxford, Bath, Hereford and finished up
at Bristols Kebele social centre. According to movie director
Steve Bishop, The whole things has been massively energised
by Sussex Polices cack-handed attempt at censorship
so cobblers / bollocks to them basically. Venue organisers have
been surprised at the turn outs obviously huge credit has
to go to everyone who organised a screening at short notice.

TENTS STAND OFF
- Smash EDO action camp round-up - Its been a hectic week
in Brighton as Smash EDO and Sussex Police once again faced off
over the presence of US arms manufacturer EDO MBM in the town. Local
campaigners, having appealed for a national presence of peace activists
for a protest camp, pitched up in Wild Park in Moulsecoomb - cheekily
situated right behind EDOs main factory site on Home Farm Rd. SchNEWS

10th March 2006 | Issue 535
- PIGS MIGHT LIE - Sussex police have shot themselves in the
foot with unerring aim again after charges were dropped against
eight activists relating to a mass demo outside Brighton bomb-builders
EDO MBM on May 31st last year. Three of the defendants were up for
the Go directly to jail offence of assault police,
and others for Section 5 and obstruction of the Highway. The charges
were formally dropped on Thursday afternoon, and a CPS statement
claimed that as the injunction had now effectively collapsed it
was no longer in the public interest to continue the
prosecutions.
